A Taste of Europe in Downtown Chicago
Bruce and Adam Sauer of Servare Products recall a bold kitchen remodel in a downtown Chicago high-rise in our latest Project Spotlight.
The apartment was “dated from the start” – with old carpet, plain white tile in the kitchen, and builder grade white cabinets. But the homeowner had a dramatic vision of a custom look that would set her home apart and help delineate her dining area and sitting room.
Enter Servare Products who designed a kitchen that transformed the home with a sleek, European design. Black slab doors and drawer fronts combined with complimentary black quartz counters and backsplash, adding drama and increasing the vertical height of the kitchen. Lighter hardwood floors presented a clean pallet for the kitchen, dining area and sitting room, which visually enlarged the space.
This project stands out for three reasons:
- It recreated the home in a design that added market value, fit the homeowner’s lifestyle and showed the character of the homeowner.
- The new design added a counter cabinet that works as a pantry, along with full height cabinets that expanded storage capacity.
- Single height wall cabinets expand the feel of the counter working space and lift the eyes to see the entire area, making the space look larger.
Servare Products was thrilled to help the homeowner save time and money while bringing her vision to life. After all, the word “servare” is Latin for “to save” – so saving is literally in the company’s name.
